The Biggest Loser Season 3 & Why we do NOT support the ‘biggest loser’ TV concept!
Six reasons:
- Each individual MUST undergo a battery of health checks before each series because placing someone whose grossly overweight thru this sort of Punishment/Torture places a massive load on one’s heart, circulation & respiratory systems…In plain words–It’s extremely DANGEROUS- The stuff of Heart attacks, strokes, respiratory arrest, etc. The average overweight person just doesNOT go thru this sort of pre-weight-loss examination and so endangers one’s life by attacking weightloss via this frought route!!
- It infers that most who are overweight are simply extremely lazy and indolent creatures. In my personal and clients’ experiences, this is generally far from the truth. Many of my over-weight customers exclaim that they don’t even eat as much as many of their friends, yet their friends do not have any weight issues!
- The other massive OVER-statement of the series is inferred that by the simple act of changing one’s mind one can ‘change-their-life’. Whilst we agree that a positive attitude to ANYTHING we do in-life is important, wouldn’t it be wonderful if life was that simple!! Can changing your mind actually change your DNA, can your willpower correct deep deficiencies wrought by a poor diet, stress & drug ab-use, etc?
- Torture and self flagellation is the appropriate penance for being overweight in the first place…Whatever happened to self-nurturing, self-awareness and understanding as to the true causes as to why your weight is the way it is…Are the following causative factors such as Genetic, emotional, deficiency, depression or ALL-THe-ABOVE thought of or even contenanced? Indeed is my cause of obesity simply a ‘lack-of-mindset-or will-power?
- What have you learnt, what treasures of wisdom are now your’s since you’ve got to your ideal weight using this TV method? Are Torture, Flagellation, Denial, Penance and simply sheer blind doggedness rewards for your longterm self-esteem and enjoyment?
- Once you’ve got to the ideal weight, what happen’s when you realise you do not wish to become the equivalent of an-olympian? What happens when you realise that you want your life back & do not wish to spend 2-4 hrs daily at the gym or ‘track’?
No wonder some 70+% of weightloss attendees are recidivists! (repeat offenders)
